Start with a morning swim in La Concha bay. Bike over to Gros for a proper coffee at Sakona Coffee Roasters. Stock up on seasonal produce at La Bretxa farmer’s market. Stop for hand-cut Iberian ham at Zapore Jai and maybe an aperitif at Casa Urola.
Thus fortified a little shopping would be in order. Atlantis has a curated collection of accessories and Scottish milliner Gill Connon (SFHN) makes some of her gorgeous straw hats at her salon on site.
In the evening I’d go for pintxos in the old quarter or have a drink at Essencia Wine Bar —they are specialists in sherry and Champagne and have a great menu which complements the wine list.
My perfect day would be during Jazzaldia in July, so I’d go to a concert and then have a late drink in the garden at Kafe Botanika or at the Museo del Whiskey, a piano bar in San Sebastian that houses one of the world’s largest whiskey collections.
